3D Rendering Meme Trend Explained

Of course it should be noted that Variety found no evidence of such an investigation in Princeton when it reported on the new viral Vin Diesel post. Instead, the tweet belongs to a meme trend where someone posts a 3D model of a celebrity for humorous effect. The trend can be traced back to 2018 when a Twitter user claimed that a rendering of Britney Spears was created by a Harvard research team trying to model what the ancient Egyptian queen Cleopatra might look like. Other celebrities featured in the meme include Andre the Giant, Lady Gaga, and Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger from the Fast & Furious movies.

While many people seemed to be fooled by the viral prank, other eagle-eyed Twitter users pointed out that the image was actually Vin Diesel fan art. While this meme doesn’t reveal Adam’s face, it does highlight Diesel’s enduring popularity. Diesel remains the heart of the Fast & Furious franchise, and his return in Fast X is expected to bring another hit for the film series. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Vin Diesel trending again soon.
