SAN JOSE — A shooting that sent a person to hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon has since died, marking the city’s fourth homicide of the year, police said.
The shooting was reported at 4:30 p.m. from Rancho Drive, between Monterey Highway and Seven Trees Boulevard. According to the San Jose Police Department, officers found a critically injured person who was rushed to a local hospital.
Police reported Wednesday morning that the victim died overnight. Additional details, including a motive or an identified suspect, were not immediately released; Police said more information would be released later Wednesday.
At the same time in 2022, the San Jose Police Department had investigated one homicide for the year.
