ANTIOCH – A man suspected of stabbing a pregnant woman and two minors on Saturday has been arrested about 30 miles away in Solano County after leading police on a lengthy chase.
The victims, an 11-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy and a 35-year-old woman, were taken to hospital. Two of them remain in critical condition and had to be airlifted.
The stabbing occurred at approximately 3:55 p.m. at the Bayview Apartments at 137 Wilbur Avenue, a housing complex in a largely industrial area of ​​Antioch near the San Joaquin River.
The suspect, a man, was arrested in Cordelia, a small community off Interstate 680 in Solano County, where the local sheriff’s office assisted in the pursuit.
Antioch police have not confirmed further details about the suspect and declined to comment on the victims’ relationship with the suspect or with each other.
Officers were still present at the scene of the stabbing into the evening hours on Saturday, but the police said after the arrest of the suspect that there was no active threat to the public.
