New teases for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania suggest that Peyton’s next Marvel Studios movie will be releasing a first trailer soon.
A series of Marvel Studios teases suggest that: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s trailer will drop soon. Director Peyton Reed returns to the MCU to conclude the Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne film trilogy. While the pair get reinforcements with Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne and even Cassie Lang, Team Ant-Man faces a formidable foe in Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror.
The villain variant, He Who Remains, was introduced at the end of this year Loki season 1, with its demise opening up the multiverse. Now, however, Kang the Conqueror will make its official debut via Ant Man 3. Specific plot details are still being kept secret, but given its impending release, Marvel Studios would like to kick-start the marketing campaign for the threequel, especially with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘s premiere now less than a month away.
This idea is supported by the latest social media post from ant man‘s official Twitter page, teasing big things to come for the MCU sub-franchise. This is followed by reed‘s own tweet, featuring a comic book panel mentioning Ant-Man’s return. Check out the respective tweets below:
What Could Be In The Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Trailer
Marvel Studios has actually already been screened Ant Man 3 footage for fans – it debuted at the D23 Expo 2022, but only as an exclusive trailer for an event, meaning it was never released to everyone online. Chances are, the first official marketing clip for the threequel is the same from the Disney convention, but maybe a little more polished in its VFX work. Based on the image description, the trailer is a deviation from the ant man franchise’s mostly lighthearted tone which will be interesting to watch. It even shows Scott Lang bloodied, which makes his conflict with Kang the Conqueror that much more exciting.
Marvel Studios’ gets bigger for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Rather than a standalone movie, Kevin Feige more commonly referred to it as an MCU team-up movie like Doctor Strange 2. While its predecessors were largely removed from the franchise’s larger stories, this film will be an integral part of Marvel Studios’ exploration of the multiverse in the Multiverse Saga, which culminates with Avengers: Secret Wars in 2026. Team Ant-Man taking on the Saga’s new big-bad in Kang the Conqueror points to his place in Feige and his team’s current storytelling plans. Aside from the upcoming trilogy capper, this also suggests that Lang and the rest of his team will play a significant role in the future of the MCU.
