Marvel Studios is looking to make a solo Groot movie in the MCU about Planet X if Guardians of the Galaxy 3 star Vin Diesel is to be believed.
a solo Big movie could come to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star Vin Diesel says Marvel wants a Planet X movie. Diesel joined the MCU nearly a decade ago when he began lending his voice to Groot in Guardians of the Universe, making him one of the franchise’s main cast members. The Fast & Furious star has continued to voice the tree-like alien in five MCU movies, as well as the recent I am tall Disney+ shorts. Groot’s role in the franchise is confirmed to continue in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 next year and another season of I am tall shorts.
Although Vin Diesel only plays a minor role in the MCU, he’s never shy about revealing details about Groot’s future. The actor was the one who announced the appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy in Thor: Love and Thunder. He has also said that the public will meet Alpha Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, even though director James Gunn has denied that claim. Vin Diesel has also suggested that Kevin Feige is excited about Groot’s return to his home planet in a future MCU project, but it has not been revealed when or if that will actually happen.
utilities, Vin Diesel claims Marvel wants to make Groot a solo movie about Planet X, Groot’s homeworld in the comics. There are multiple Planet Xs in Marvel’s comic continuity, and one is home to Groot’s race of humanoid plants known as Flora colossi. Diesel teased the potential Groot solo MCU movie in an Instagram post about his niece being loving I am tall. Due to the positive response to the series, Diesel said: “No wonder Marvel wants to make a Planet X movie.” There are currently no plans for a Groot Planet X movie at Marvel Studios.
Will Guardians of the Galaxy 3 set up Groot’s solo film?
Diesel’s message that Marvel wants to make a Planet X movie is certainly a surprise, and that could mean Guardians of the Galaxy 3The end will set up this solo adventure for Groot. Gunn has described: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as the end of the team’s original iteration, leading to much speculation that some of the main characters will die. Groot is unlikely to leave the MCU with the Phase 5 movie, as he is a very popular character and someone who could be part of Marvel’s franchise forever. However, the theories in which Rocket will die… Guardians of the Galaxy 3 would have a huge impact on Groot if they’re right, so a trip to Planet X could happen then.
It’s somewhat hard to imagine Marvel Studios wanting to make a solo Groot movie in MCU Phase 7, as he’s not the type of character who could lead a movie. But unless Diesel is just trying to bring about a Planet X movie, the indication of Marvel’s interest could be true. Perhaps the idea for a Groot Planet X MCU movie could provide the basis for a new special presentation on Disney+ now Werewolf at night debuted. This would be a less risky bet from Marvel, unless the Planet X movie is actually ordinary Guardians of the Galaxy 4. Only time will tell if Big gets a solo movie afterwards Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
