And they said, “Look, we have this data.”
And I said, “Okay, okay, I’ll come in and do it.”
And we had to get permission from the Witcher production at the time, but it was so top secret that we couldn’t tell them what. We just said, “Hey, there’s something I’m going to do. Can you clear me from that?”…
And so I went to… Warner Bros. Studios in the UK and on a super secret set… all hidden, and I went back in the suit, and it was a very powerful moment for me… [It] was very emotionally connected as I put the Man of Steel suit back on.
And I chose that one mostly because of the nostalgia that comes with the suit, and it was incredibly important for me to just stand there and enjoy that moment. And that’s one of the highlights of my career. It feels great to be able to wear it again.

So far, there has been no specific confirmation as to what exact future DC projects will see Henry Cavill reprise the role of Superman. However, there are multiple avenues for the character to perish, including the haunted showdown between Superman and Black Adam. Producers have teased that this particular battle will last across multiple films, but Johnson has also stated that the next Black Adam-esque project won’t be his battle with Superman, to build anticipation of the showdown.
Taking all that into consideration, the next Superman project after that Black Adam could very well be the long rumor Man of Steel 2. Lately messages have been flying around Man of Steel 2 since they’re in early development and looking for writers, it’s possible they’ll use that sequel to put Superman’s story back on the table before reuniting him with Black Adam.
