An impressive NSFW piece of Deadpool 3 fan art depicts a very bloody showdown between Ryan Reynolds’ hero and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
As buzz continues to build for Deadpool 3, a new NSFW fan art imagines Wolverine dealing a bloody punch against Marvel’s Merc with a mouth. Although Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool technically made its debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, the current iteration of the character was introduced in 2016 Deadpool. The success of the first film led to the release of Deadpool 2 shortly thereafter, with work on a third film later delayed in part due to Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Now however, Deadpool 3 will finally see the hero join the MCU in 2024, with free man and The Adam Project director Shawn Levy at the helm of the project.
Story details about Deadpool 3 remain scarce, but recently, much to the surprise of many fans, it was confirmed that Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine will return in the upcoming film. Jackman played the part for almost 20 years in a number of X-Men movies and standalone entries before seemingly saying goodbye to Wolverine with 2017’s Logan. Some questions remain about exactly how Jackman’s Wolverine will return in Deadpool 3and the two stars recently took to social media to jokingly explain to fans when they didn’t really reveal much.
Now a new piece Deadpool 3 fan art from SPRMNKYXXXIII on Instagram imagines what the dynamic between Ryan Reynolds’ hero and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine might look like. The NSFW art sees Deadpool humorously beheaded and shows Wolverine donning a more comics-accurate yellow suit, which Jackman never wore during his time playing the character. Why Deadpool and Wolverine are the perfect MCU team
As highlighted in the fan art, the fact that Wolverine and Deadpool share a healing ability makes them a very interesting duo. Both characters can recover from almost any wound they incur, no matter how severe, opening up some exciting possibilities. Wolverine and Deadpool are also very different in terms of their personalities, meaning a clash between the two is basically inevitable at some point. With their healing abilities, this clash can be extremely gory and brutal, taking full advantage of Deadpool 3‘s R rating, while also presenting some unique moments for comedy.
It remains to be seen what the dynamic between Wolverine and Deadpool will be in the upcoming film, but Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld has already weighed in and expressed his hopes for a violent road trip-esque buddy comedy. Deadpool 3 writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have already confirmed that like the previous 2 installments, the film will be R-rated, meaning a bloody Deadpool beheading may not be off the table. Unfortunately the release date is for Deadpool 3 will be away for more than two years, meaning fans will have to wait a long time before seeing the duo on screen together.
