Police said a person was killed in Sunnyvale on Monday evening after a driver hit and killed a cyclist.
Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety personnel responded to a report of a collision near Wolfe Road and Inverness Way at 5:11 p.m., according to a department press release. A male cyclist was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.
Authorities said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident and was cooperating with investigators.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner Coroner’s Office will publicly identify the bicyclist once their identity is confirmed and they are able to notify the person’s closest relatives.
